So, for those cubs born in early 2014, they most likely left their mothers between July and September, and should be fine. However, those cubs born early this year? They are only 8 to 9 months old, and certainly, will have no chance to survive without their mothers whatsoever. Their only hope is that the good-hearted volunteers that plan to scour the woods after the hunt is over, in hopes of finding the cubs. If not, the cubs will simply starve to death.

Stop Florida's Black Bear Hunt!

It can take as many as six shots at point blank range (muzzle to fur) to kill a large adult bear. One shot, or one arrow, is very unlikely to kill a large bear quickly and humanely. Inevitably, bears will suffer in agony for some time, especially those who are never found by the hunters.

The FWC says this is a scientific hunt but we all know this is just a barbaric trophy hunt. Email the FWC and ask them why the brutal bow is allowed to be used during this "scientific" hunt.
