ROXY – A1088491 Bookmark and Share

***DEVASTATED SENIOR!*** Roxy had the life – she and her canine BFF loved to lounge around the house together and were gentle and playful with each other. Now at 9 years old, Roxy and her housemate were dumped at the shelter due to their owner’s personal problems. To make matters worse, after only 4 days, Roxy finds herself on the kill list. This poor girl has lost everything, her life has been turned upside down and she has barely even had a chance to blink, much less adapt to shelter life. The shelter must think that no one will want an older gal like Roxy but her life still has value and she deserves a place to live out her golden years in peace. Please don’t let the shelter carry out its plan to kill Roxy tomorrow. Share, pledge, advocate… save Roxy before noon tomorrow.

The President's 2017 budget opens the door for more cruel experiments, sterilizations plus slaughter of America's icons of freedom
The budget would strip wild horses of their federally protected status to hand them over to states and counties that are notorious for campaigning for wild horse roundups and slaughter. This must be stopped!

Right now the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is giving grants totaling $11 million tax dollars for cruel experiments on wild horses and burros--especially PREGNANT mares--to develop methods of population control. These experiments are cruel and unjustified. The truth is, America's wild horses and burros are underpopulated on public land. The BLM has never done an accurate headcount and guesses at population to milk taxpayer dollars out of Congress for their fake overpopulation crisis.

Even so cruelty towards wild horses and burros is any form must stop now.
Federally protected wild horses and burros are to be protected from harassment according to the law.

IT'S UP TO US -- Sally Wengrover, PhD -- Book Trailer

Our beautiful ecosphere is unraveling.

As a result of our excessive consumption, the world is degrading undermining the existence of many species—including our own. Signs of the unraveling are all around us: Earth's average temperature is rising. Oceans are acidifying. Wildlife habitat is vanishing. Countless species are going extinct. Large regions are experiencing “historic” droughts, “1000-year” floods, & unprecedented wildfires. Conventional environmental policies have done good, but they’re not getting the job done & they’re unlikely to any time soon. While we sit & wait for governments, markets, & technologies to fix environmental problems for us, the rate of ecological unraveling is accelerating..
IT'S UP TO US discusses environmental solutions: what’s been tried and what’s been proposed, what’s worked and what hasn’t. It argues that the unraveling of the ecosphere won’t stop until we stop pulling on the threads.

Rated 'S' for slaughter? New film questions Canada seal hunt | Madison Wisconsin Business News |

BOSTON (AP) — It's not an easy movie to watch: Hunters clubbing seals to death and bloodying the otherwise pristine ice of the Canadian Arctic.

But for the Cape Cod-based International Fund for Animal Welfare, "Huntwatch" — a new documentary about the fight to end commercial seal hunts — is a story that needs to be told.
