Delicious Macarons Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups almond flour
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 4 large egg whites
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- Food coloring optional
- 1/2 cup buttercream frosting
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 300F 150C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
In a bowl, sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar
Set aside
In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites until foamy
Gradually add granulated sugar and continue whipping until stiff peaks form
Gently fold the dry ingredients into the whipped egg whites until the batter is smooth and shiny
If using food coloring, add a few drops to the batter and gently fold until evenly colored
Transfer the batter to a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheet
Tap the baking sheet on the counter to release any air bubbles, then let the macarons rest for about 30 minutes
Bake the macarons in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes until they have formed feet and are set
Remove from the oven and let the macarons cool completely on the baking sheet
Once cooled, pair up the macaron shells of similar size
Pipe a small amount of buttercream frosting onto the flat side of one shell and sandwich with another shell
Repeat with the remaining shells
Store the filled macarons in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 24 hours before enjoying
