Crock Pot French Dip Sandwiches
Tender beef chuck roast slow-cooked in a flavorful broth, served on toasted French rolls with optional cheese and a side of Au Jus for dipping.
Ingredients:
- 3 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 4-6 French rolls
- Butter for rolls
- Provolone or Swiss cheese slices optional
- Au Jus for dipping reserved liquid from crock pot
Instructions:
Put the beef chuck roast in the crock pot
Put honey, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, thyme, rosemary, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth in a bowl
Pour the mix over the roast
Turn the heat down to low and cover
Cook for 8 hours, or until the beef is soft and can be easily shred with a fork
Take the beef out of the crock pot and use two forks to shred it
Squeeze out the liquid from the crock pot to make Au Jus that you can dip things in
Cut the French rolls in half and butter both sides
Put it under the broiler for a few minutes to make it slightly toasted
Spread shredded beef out on toasted rolls
If you want, you can add cheese on top
Give them Au Jus to dip them in
